HOUSTON – A Pearland business alleges that it was damaged by relying on false practices made to it by several entities regarding a liquor store.

Pete's Liquor & Wine LLC filed a complaint on April 16 in the Harris County District Court against Dylan K. Schopper, Randy Young, Pin Oak Reif Cypress LLC and Finial Group LLC alleging that they violated the Deceptive Trade Practices Act and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was contacted by the defendants regarding the opening of a liquor store in Cypress that Finial represented had been abandoned by the previous owner. The plaintiff alleges that it was told the existing inventory could be used to immediately open the store, and the plaintiff initially agreed to open the store if the inventory could be used.

The suit states the plaintiff later learned that it could not sell the inventory and informed the defendants that it could not proceed with the lease. The plaintiff alleges Finial is still demanding payment pursuant to lease.

The plaintiff holds Schopper, Young, Pin Oak Reif Cypress LLC and Finial Group LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly misrepresented material information about the inventory.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $150,000, attorney's fees, costs, interest and such other lawful and equitable relief. It is represented by Trent D. Stephens of Fisherbroyles LLP in Houston.
