Harris Co. woman sues gentlemen's club over 2017 car crash involving drunk driver

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman says she was involved last year in a motor vehicle accident with a drunk driver and has sued a local gentlemen’s club which reportedly served him.

Demica Lee filed a lawsuit against Enterprise Operating Co., doing business as The St. James Restaurant & Cabaret, on Apr. 16 in the Harris County 334th District Court.

The suit alleges the establishment had Job Cervantes as a customer on Mar. 26, 2017, stating it excessively served him alcohol despite his intoxicated state.

The defendant purportedly allowed the customer to leave the premises drunk.

“Cervantes got behind the wheel of a car, drove the wrong way near the 10500 block of McCarty Road and crashed head-on into Ms. Lee,” the complaint says.

Cervantes joins the nightspot as a co-defendant.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Timothy R. Hightower and Ivan J. Capellan of the law firm Hightower Capellan in Houston.
