Patient alleges limp caused by Port Arthur doctor's care after surgery

Medical malpractice 04

BEAUMONT – An Orange County woman alleges that she now walks with a limp because of the care provided by a Port Arthur physician after a surgery.

Karen Dubose filed a complaint on March 12 in the Jefferson County District Court against Stephen Hall, D.O. alleging a breach of the standard of care.

According to the complaint, the defendant operated on the plaintiff's ruptured Achilles tendon Feb. 12, 2016. She alleges she needed another surgery to repair the tendon again Feb. 25, 2016. She alleges the surgical wound became infected and she transferred her care to a different orthopedist. She alleges the new physician diagnosed her with an infected and exposed Achilles tendon and that she needed another surgery.

The plaintiff holds Hall responsible because the defendant allegedly breached the standard of care, which led to an infection and causing permanent impairment to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for a sum within the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit, and such other and further relief to which may be justly entitled. She is represented by Collin D. Cobb of The Monk Law Firm in Beaumont.
