Texas Children's Hospital visitor seeks more than $200,000 after fall because of wet floor

HOUSTON – An invitee at Texas Children's Hospital alleges the health care facility failed to warn of a wet floor.

Lidia Ruiz filed a complaint on April 17 in the Harris County District Court against Texas Children's Hospital alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 29, 2016, she was visiting a patient at defendant's hospital and was injured when she slipped and fell on a puddle of water on the floor left by maintenance personnel when mopping.

The plaintiff holds Texas Children's Hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly violated its maintenance and safety floor policy and failed to warn of the floor's condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $750,000. She is represented by J. Michael Moore of The Moore Law Firm in McAllen.
