Beaumont Walmart shopper alleges liquid on floor caused her to fall

BEAUMONT – A woman alleges she was injured while shopping at a Walmart store because of liquid on the floor.

Callie Rice filed a complaint on March 21 in the Jefferson County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores Texas LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 2, 2016, she was shopping at a Walmart store in Beaumont and was injured when she fell in a puddle of clear or light-colored liquid on the floor. She alleges she was injured in the fall.

The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Texas LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to place warning signs near the area of the puddle of liquid.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief in an amount of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of J.J. Bragg Law in Beaumont.
