The plaintiff eCeipt is based in Plano.

It has pursued legal action in response to alleged infringement of U.S. Patent Number 8,643,875.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued the ‘875 patent, which is entitled "Receipt Handling Systems, Print Drivers and Methods Thereof,” on Feb. 4.

The ‘875 patent’s inventors reportedly devised “a receipt handling system that could be used with existing POS systems to technologically improve them to obviate their shortcomings.”

eCeipt seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Plano-based Recall is the plaintiff.

It claims U.S. Patent No. 7,296,062 was infringed.

The ‘062 patent, which is entitled “Method for Generating a Presentation for Re-locating an Information Page that has Already Been Called,” was issued by the USPTO on Nov. 13, 2007.

“The invention in the ’062 patent provides a method for generating a presentation or the re-location of an information page that was already called proceeding from a home page of an information vendor, and which has been exited in the meantime,” court documents say.

Recall seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
