HOUSTON – A Houston lawyer is accused of legal malpractice by two former clients.
Vivi Truong and Vu Nguyen filed a complaint on May 2 in the Harris County District Court against Jimmy N. Bowden alleging negligence and other counts.
According to the complaint, the defendant filed a lawsuit on behalf of the plaintiffs and provided advice, counsel representation and warranties. The plaintiffs allege Bowden failed to timely serve a defendant in the suit and settled with some defendants and failed to pay the plaintiffs settlement funds. They also allege he has failed to advise them of the status of their cases.
The plaintiffs hold Bowden responsible because the defendant allegedly made false representations and acted contrary to plaintiffs' interest.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Daniel D. Gartner of Gartner Law Firm PC in Houston.
