HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges that she was discriminated against by a Houston company because of her age, gender and religion.

Krishna Gonzalez filed a complaint on May 3 in the Harris County District Court against Orion Construction LP alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendant in July 2016 as a safety technician. The suit states she is older than 40 and is Muslim. She alleges she contacted a labor and employment attorney in August 2017 after being subjected to desperate treatment and was terminated less than a month later.

The plaintiff holds Orion Construction LP responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her due to her age, gender and religion and retaliated against her by terminating her employment for opposing discriminatory practices.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Joshua A. Verde and Zachary P. Nye of The Verde Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
