The plaintiff Semcon is based in Marshall.

It has pursued legal action in response to alleged infringement of United States Patent Numbers 7,100,061; 7,596,708; 8,566,627; and 8,806,247.

Semcon asserts ownership of the patents which recent court documents explain “generally cover methods and apparatuses for controlling the power used by a computer, and specifically, the adjustment of the clock frequency and voltage supply to a processor and other components to conserve processor power and extend battery life.”

The complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Alfred R. Fabricant of the law firm Brown Rudnick LLP in New York City serves as Semcon’s lead counsel.
