Missouri residents allege SDR Trucking driver failed to keep a proper lookout in Highway 59 crash

Semi crash 02

MARSHALL – A Missouri couple alleges they sustained property damage and serious injuries when they were struck by a tractor-trailer.

Donnie W. Mason and Carol S. Porterfield filed a complaint on May 11 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Patrick Danell Kent and SDR Trucking LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Feb. 16, they were traveling in a motor vehicle towing a travel trailer on U.S. Highway 59 in Cass County with Kent, who was driving a tractor-trailer, behind them. The plaintiffs allege they slowed to make a right turn and the defendant struck their vehicle and trailer.

The suit states the vehicle Kent was driving was owned by SDR Trucking.

The plaintiffs hold Kent and SDR Trucking LLC responsible because defendant Kent allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to maintain a safe speed and safe distance.

The plaintiffs seek compensatory damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Josh B. Maness in Waskom and Ryan H. Zehl and W. Lamar DeLong of Zehl & Associates PC in Houston.
