HOUSTON – A Harris County man has pursued legal action in response to an on the job injury he reportedly sustained last year at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Imran Wasiq filed a lawsuit against Textron Ground Support Equipment, Inc. on May 14 in the Harris County 334th District Court.

Wasiq, a bag agent, asserts the defendant designed, manufactured, and sold a belt loader which malfunctioned and crushed his left leg and right hand.

“The belt loader was designed, manufactured, sold, and installed by the defendant Textron GSE in a defective and unreasonably dangerous condition to an extent beyond which would be contemplated by an ordinary user of the belt loader,” the complaint says. “The defective and unreasonably dangerous condition of the belt loader was a producing cause of the plaintiff’s serious injuries.”

Consequently, Wasiq seeks unspecified monetary damages.

Muhammed S. Aziz of the law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston is representing the complainant.
