Law money 03

HOUSTON – A long-term skilled nursing facility in Webster is alleged to have failed to pay a nurse for all hours that she worked.

Valerie Wells filed a complaint on May 15 in the Harris County District Court against Penbar Inc., doing business as Regency Village Skilled and Rehab Center, alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff has been employed by the defendant as a licensed vocational nurse from November 2015 to the present. She alleges she has not received bona fide meal break periods and was required to work off-the-clock during her meal break periods and was not paid for such time.

The plaintiff holds Penbar Inc. doing business as Regency Village Skilled and Rehab Center, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to compensate her for all hours that she worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks consequential and pecuniary damages, punitive damages, attorneys' fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and such other and further relief which may show justly entitled. She is represented by Todd Slobin and Ricardo J. Prieto of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
