Kroger shopper alleges soap on restroom floor caused him to fall

Slip01

BEAUMONT – A Beaumont man claims he was injured at a grocery store in the city because of the "unkempt" restroom.

Claude Gaspard filed a complaint on May 7 in the Jefferson County District Court against Kroger Texas LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 24, 2016, he suffered injuries on defendant's premises on Phelan Boulevard when he fell because of soap that was puddled in the floor of its "very unkempt" restroom.

The plaintiff holds Kroger Texas LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care to reduce or to eliminate the risk and or adequately warn regarding the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages, together with legal interest, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and for such other relief to which justly entitled. He is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan of J.J. Bragg in Beaumont.
