Motel 6 - Baytown guests alleges fall due to slippery bathtub caused permanent injuries

Slip01

HOUSTON – A guest at a Baytown motel alleges he has been permanently physically impaired after falling in a bathtub.

Randall Parker filed a complaint on May 18 in the Harris County District Court against Motel 6 - Baytown alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 10, 2017, he was about to take a shower but the bathtub was excessively slippery, which caused him to lose his balance when he stepped in and fell. He alleges he is permanently physically impaired due to the effects of his injuries.

The plaintiff holds Motel 6 - Baytown responsible because the defendant allegedly breached its duty to inspect the premises and maintain it in a reasonably safe condition and failed to have safety devices such as handrails, bathmats, tub grip and antislip bathtub coating.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, costs of court and for such other and further relief, both general and special. He is represented by Scott R. Brann of Brann Sullivan Trial Lawyers PLLC in Houston.
