Medical negligence suit filed against OBGYN Medical Center Associates by patient

Medical malpractice 08

HOUSTON – A patient alleges she needed a second procedure because of the negligence of a physician.

Monica Enriquez filed a complaint on May 22 in the Harris County District Court against Maryam Baird MD, OBGYN Medical Center Associates PLLC, et al. alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 15, 2016, she underwent dilation and curettage (D&C) performed by defendant Baird to remove the unborn fetus from a pregnancy that was no longer viable. She alleges she felt pain after the procedure and went to an emergency room on Sept. 19, 2016, and that she needed another D&C procedure to remove retained products of conception.

The plaintiff holds Baird OBGYN Medical Center Associates PLLC, et al. responsible because defendant Baird allegedly breached the standard of care in treating the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Craig Lewis and Aaron Arenas of The Lewis Law Firm in Houston.
