TLRA Debt Recovery alleged to have failed to state creditor in collection letter

Late 06

TEXARKANA – A consumer alleges a debt collector failed to identify the name of the current creditor in two collection letters it mailed to her.

Amy Lee Day filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 23 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against TLRA Debt Recovery alleging that the collection agency violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 19, 2017, she received two collection letters from defendant attempting to collect an alleged debt from the plaintiff. She alleges the letter failed to effectively state the name of the creditor to whom the alleged debt is owed.

The plaintiff holds TLRA Debt Recovery responsible because the defendant allegedly engaged in misleading debt collection communications.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, costs, attorneys’ fees and all further relief as deemed just and proper. She is represented by Joel S. Halvorsen of Halvorsen Klote in St. Louis, Missourti.
