Caucasian man alleges race was factor in termination by PPG Industries

Wrongful term 02

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he as wrongfully terminated from his job as an assistant manager and his race was a factor in the termination.

Robert Heller filed a complaint on May 23 in the Harris County District Court against PPG Industries Inc. and Eric Lopez alleging wrongful termination, defamation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was an assistant manager of a PPG store in Houston from March 2016 until his termination in April 2018. He alleges he was the only Caucasian employee at the store and was treated differently than other employees.

The plaintiff holds PPG Industries Inc. and Lopez responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated him because of his race.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Michael G. Martinez in Friendswood.
