HOUSTON – A rental property owner is seeking an injunction to stop a Harris County city from demolishing his rental properties.

Richard L. Pfirman filed a complaint on May 24 in the Harris County District Court against the city of Baytown seek injunctive relief.

According to the complaint, the defendant held hearings in municipal court in February regarding 14 parcels of property the plaintiff uses as rentals. He alleges he did not receive the defendant's notices of the hearings and did not appear because they were sent to an address now rendered unusable due to Hurricane Harvey.

The plaintiff is seeking temporary and permanent injunctions to enjoin the defendant from demolishing his parcels.

The plaintiff seeks declaration that the orders to demolish are invalid, enjoining defendant from demolishing said properties, attorney's fees, costs and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Ernie Garcia of The Law Office of Ernie Garcia in Houston.
