HOUSTON – A former security professional with Universal Protection Services, doing business as Allied Universal, has brought a wrongful termination lawsuit against the company.

Brian Wilson’s suit explains that the defendant discriminated against him because he is a Christian and a diabetic.

Court documents filed on May 29 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas claim the business told Wilson on a few occasions to remove his cross necklace.  The plaintiff reportedly continued to wear the cross.

Wilson says he informed the defendant about his condition after he was transferred to GreenStreet in downtown Houston, stating little or no accommodations were made.

The respondent’s site supervisor reportedly took a picture of Wilson while he resting and reported the plaintiff for “sleeping on the job.”

According to the suit, the act and Wilson’s subsequent termination were retaliatory.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Connor Throckmorton and Bruce A. Coane and the law firm Coane and Associates, PLLC in Houston.
