HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges that she was terminated from her employment shortly after disclosing her pregnancy.
Jordan Jewett, formerly known as Jordan Kerensky, filed a complaint on June 18 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against VWR International LLC and Avantor Inc. alleging that they violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she began working for VWR in 2007 and was a sales representative. She alleges she disclosed her pregnancy to her supervisor in September 2016 and was terminated less than a month later.
The plaintiff holds VWR International LLC and Avantor Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated her because of her pregnancy.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and exemplary damages, attorney’s fees, costs of court and litigation expenses, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Trevor Sharon of Law Office of Paul Doyle & Associates in Houston.
