GALVESTON – A Galveston County couple is seeking more than $200,000 from two dentists over alleged injuries caused by a dental implant.

Karen Kolb and Milton Kolb filed a complaint on June 21 in the Galveston County District Court against Gregory Pham, DDS and John Thomas Carroll, DDS, individually and doing business as Today's Dentistry Texas, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Karen Kolb was treated by the defendants from November 2016 to August 2017. The suit states she initially was treated by the defendants for a bite adjustment to relieve chewing pain but further treatment, which included an implant, resulted in pain in her lower jaw and nerve damage.

She alleges she suffered permanent and progressive nerve damage, pain, numbness and tingling in her face that will require additional treatment because of the defendants' alleged negligence.

The plaintiffs hold Pham and Carroll responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make a reasonable attempt to correct the failed implant and failed to consult a qualified periodontist.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which they may show themselves justly entitled. They are represented by Scott A. Sanes of Sanes & Larkin Law Firm LLP in Pearland.
