HOUSTON – A woman alleges the skin on her face was burned after a wax treatment at a Houston spa.

Raven Hutton filed a complaint on Aug. 16 in the Harris County District Court against Thien Quoc Pham and Do Ryan Minh, doing business as Hollywood Fashion Nails & Spa alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 27, she went to defendants' spa with her daughter to get a facial wax. She alleges she mentioned to an employee that the wax was too hot and she was burning. The suit states an employee sprayed an unknown substance on her face and told her it was alcohol and/or antiseptic.

She alleges after leaving the shop, her face continued to burn and scab over as day progressed. She later sought medical treatment and was advised it appeared to be a chemical burn.

She alleges the facial burn was severe and caused facial disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Pham and Minh responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly supervise their employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Carlette White of White Law Office in Sugar Land.
