HOUSTON – A local woman claims that she tripped over an improperly installed cable near her home two years ago as she tried to catch one of her horses.

Jacqueline Quinn’s lawsuit, which was filed on Sept. 1 in the Harris County 113th District Court, lays responsibility for the Sept. 23, 2016 incident on Fairway Energy Partners, LLC; Duphil, Inc.; Jan’s Construction; and Point to Point Directional Drilling, Inc.

The defendants reportedly attempted to run cables or wires across the plaintiff’s yard for a guide to lay pipe underground prior to the subject event. They are faulted for failing to secure wiring to the ground or post signs or markings identifying that the cables or wires were not secured.

Quinn suffered undisclosed injuries, to which the suit asserts were no fault of her own.

Consequently, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Valerie Jewett of the law firm Jewett & Associates, P.C. in Houston serves as the plaintiff’s lead counsel.
