POLSINELLI: Dallas Office Welcomes Real Estate Finance Counsel John S. Bruzina

H

Polsinelli issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.

Polsinelli recently bolstered its strong, national Real Estate Finance practice with the addition of John S. Bruzina as counsel, based in the firm’s dynamic Dallas office. For over ten years, Bruzina has developed a diverse practice and has provided strategic counsel to sophisticated clients in a wide range of complex real estate finance transactions. Bruzina began his practice in New York City and moved to Texas in 2014.

“John will be a great addition to our Real Estate Finance practice, bringing to the table his comprehensive experience and rich understanding of this highly nuanced and ever-changing industry,” said Kraig Kohring, chair of Polsinelli’s Real Estate and Financial Services Department. “His broad real estate finance experience - including, most recently, experience representing an extremely active construction lender on high-profile projects across the country - will immediately strengthen our Real Estate Finance bench.”

Bruzina has represented a wide variety of institutional and private lenders in the origination of complex construction financing transactions, secondary mortgage market lending and permanent financings involving loans secured by multifamily developments, office buildings, hotels, commercial and mixed-use developments, and industrial warehouses across the country.

He has also advised clients in all aspects of asset management such as modifications, additional loans and deal-specific matters, including development agreements, declaration agreements, releases, conveyances and borrower intra-organizational transfers.

“Prior to his legal career, John gained client-side insight working on profit-and-loss management and business development for several companies,” said Jon Henderson, managing partner of Polsinelli’s Dallas office and chair of the firm’s national Corporate and Transactional practice. “Having experience on both sides of deals, he truly understands real-world business needs and how best to achieve corporate goals.”

Bruzina earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and previously completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration and philosophy from Siena Heights University.

Polsinelli’s Texas offices, with more than 70 professionals in Dallas and Houston, have grown by tenfold in less than a decade. This robust local presence provides a gateway to a national, full-service law firm that delivers the highest caliber of legal work and client service, infused with deeply held Midwestern values.
