SEYFARTH SHAW LLP: Seyfarth Adds IP Litigation Team in Houston

Partnership

Seyfarth Shaw, LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.

Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of two partners to its Litigation department and Intellectual Property practice in Houston. Lisa H. Meyerhoff and Myall S. Hawkins join Seyfarth from Baker & McKenzie LLP. Both lawyers were members of Baker’s international Intellectual Property team, which Meyerhoff led for the Houston office. The Houston team was responsible for patent, copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement, anti-counterfeiting, and other IP matters.

Meyerhoff and Hawkins work closely together, representing companies in a diverse range of industries in every facet of intellectual property law, including litigation, licensing, and client counseling. Both are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and have successfully protected the intellectual property rights of some of the most notable brands in Texas and throughout the United States.

“The addition of Lisa and Myall strengthens our strong national IP bench, particularly with respect to their patent litigation and trial expertise,” Seyfarth Litigation chair Kate Perrelli said. “We are beyond thrilled to welcome this excellent team of Houston IP litigators and look forward to working together to expand our IP services in the Houston area and beyond.”

With more than 30 veteran lawyers, Seyfarth’s national Intellectual Property practice serves a diverse roster of clients in the development, protection and monetization of their intellectual property assets. With broad experience in all areas of intellectual property law, Seyfarth’s IP lawyers help clients identify and secure their intellectual property rights, exploit them in the marketplace and enforce or defend them anywhere they do business.

“Lisa and Myall are terrific patent litigators who are poised to handle the multitude of IP issues facing clients in today’s challenging business climate,” said Brian Michaelis, chair of Seyfarth’s Intellectual Property practice. “This dynamic team is a huge asset to our IP practice as we continue to serve emerging industries in Houston and nationally.”
