HOUSTON – A contractor alleges his arm was "shattered" when a pipe fell on it at a job site.

Joel Montes filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the Harris County District Court against Nabors Industries LTD alleging premises liability and general negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 28, 2018, he was working as a contractor for the defendant. While cutting a large pipe as instructed by the defendant's supervisors, the suit states the unsecured piece of pipe he was cutting fell on his arm and "shattered" it.

The plaintiff holds Nabors Industries LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to ensure that the premises did not present any danger to its invitees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $5 million and such other and further relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by Chad Pinkerton of The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
