Bradley Arant Boult Cummings issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.

Bradley is pleased to announce that Sabrina N. Jiwani, an attorney in the firm’s Houston office, has been appointed to the Steering Committee of the Texas Minority Counsel Program (TMCP).

“We are proud of Sabrina’s work as a champion of diversity in the legal profession and we congratulate her on her new leadership role with the Texas Minority Counsel Program,” said Bradley Houston Office Managing Partner Ian P. Faria.

Created in 1993 by the State Bar of Texas Office of Minority Affairs, the TMCP is a client development, networking and CLE event for diverse attorneys in Texas. The TMCP’s mission is to increase opportunities for minority, women and LGBTQ attorneys who provide legal services to corporate and government clients, and to expose those organizations to the legal talent of diverse attorneys in Texas.

Ms. Jiwani will serve on the TMCP Steering Committee through 2019. She also currently is a member of the Houston Bar Association’s Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession Committee.

A member of Bradley’s Construction and Government Contracts practice groups and Energy team, Ms. Jiwani focuses her practice on commercial litigation. She has experience representing oil and gas service companies and operators, heavy equipment manufacturers, and dealers. Her experience also includes defending construction companies in multi-party suits involving large-scale infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining Bradley, Ms. Jiwani was an assistant vice president and senior counsel for JPMorgan Chase & Co., focused in collections litigation and sworn documents. She also previously served as an assistant district attorney for New York’s Bronx County, in the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Division.
