HOUSTON — A Bellaire couple is suing a contractor, alleging he abandoned a hurricane reconstruction project at their home.
Mehrdad Saeid and Mitra Saeid filed a complaint June 10 in Harris County District Court against Alex Cruz, doing business as At The Spot Home Services, alleging fraud, negligence and breach of contract.
According to the complaints, the Saeids retained At the Spot Home Services to repair their home, 4622 Valerie St., Bellaire, following extensive damage from Hurricane Harvey. The defendant, the suit says, was to repair the property as per an agreement.
The plaintiffs allege they paid At the Spot fully for the services but the defendant abandoned the job and left without paying the subcontractors that it had hired. The plaintiffs say they have tried to convince At the Spot to finish the work or return the money it was paid but the defendant has failed to do so.
The Saeids seeks relief between $100,000 and $200,000, attorney fees, trial by jury, interest, costs of court and all other just relief. They are represented by attorney Ali R. Fazel of Houston.
