Doctor alleges medical center failed to pay for his services

HOUSTON — A doctor is suing a Houston medical center, alleging he was not paid for services he delivered.

Benjamin Wowo filed a complaint June 11 in Harris County District Court against Sacred Oak Medical Center LLC, alleging debt, breach of contract, default, violation of the Texas Theft Liability Act and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, Wowo and Sacred Oak entered into an agreement July 1, 2018, in which the defendant agreed to pay the plaintiff $5,000 per month for services provided. The plaintiff alleges he upheld his side of the matter but was not compensated fairly. 

Wowo said he has had to hire a law firm to seek out the payment from Sacred Oak but the defendant has still failed to pay.

Wowo seeks damages of $15,000, statutory damages of $1,000, interest, attorney fees, court costs other just relief. He is represented by attorney Ahmad G. Azam of Azam Law Firm PC in Houston.
