Hamilton Steel construction company alleges client owes $50,000

GALVESTON — A Louisiana construction company is suing League City clients that allegedly failed to pay more than $50,000 for completed work.

Hamilton Steel LLC of Lafayette, Louisiana, filed a complaint June 26 in Galveston County District Court against Newport Re Group LLC, 451 Constellation LLC and CP League City Partners LLC, alleging breach of contract and violation of the Prompt Pay Act.

According to the complaint, Hamilton Steel entered into an agreement with the defendants to furnish labor, materials and equipment for the removal and replacement of a number of components, including the pool deck, sidewalks and fencing. The defendant, however, allegedly has been negligent in paying the plaintiff $50,499.76 for the completed work.

Hamilton Steel seeks damages of $50,499.76, attorney fees, interest and all other just relief. It is represented by attorney William B. Westcott of Andrews Myers PC in Houston.
