BEAUMONT —A Jefferson County man is suing an Orange facility owner, alleging the plaintiff was injured when he tripped over a kick plate.

Charles Dennis filed a complaint July 22 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Arlanxeo USA LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 3, Dennis was walking on a catwalk at the defendant's facility in Orange when tripped and fell over a kick plate that had been improperly installed. The suit alleges Dennis sustained debilitating injuries, mental anguish, pain and suffering and impairment.

The plaintiff alleges Arlanxeo USA knew of the defect but failed to warn the plaintiff, thus causing him to suffer injuries.

Dennis seeks trial by jury, damages, attorney fees, interest and all legal and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Byron C. Alfred of VB Attorneys in Houston.
