Tenant alleges South Pasadena townhome's negligence led to fall, injuries

HOUSTON — A tenant is suing the company that owns her South Pasadena townhome complex, alleging she was injured in a trip and fall.

Diana Duran filed a complaint Aug. 16 in Harris County District Court against Sat Venture LLC and West Plaza Management Inc., alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, Duran rents a townhome on the defendant's property at 1516 E. Sam Houston Parkway, South Pasadena. The suit alleges on May 29 she was caused to trip and fall on a poorly maintained area near the entrance to her townhome that she leased from the defendants.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to remedy or warn about the hazard, and her fall led to serious injuries, pain and suffering, mental anguish and impairment.

Duran seeks court costs, damages up to $150,000, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys David K. Mestemaker, Normal Straub and Jonathan B. Zumwalkt of Mestemaker, Straub & Zumwalt in Houston.
