Consulting company accused of age discrimination

Discrimination 19

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a consulting company, alleging he was not given a position due to his age.

John Maisonville filed a complaint Sept. 9 in Harris County District Court against Michael Page International Inc., doing business as Michael Page Consulting, alleging age discrimination.

According to the complaint, Masionville, who is older than 40, applied for a position of recruiter, for which Michael Page Consulting said there were 25 openings. At first, the suit states, Maisonville was not given an interview despite his qualifications and background in broadcasting, finance and recruiting. Despite ultimately doing well in the interview, the plaintiff alleges he was informed by the defendant that he was too senior for the position.

Maisonville seeks more than $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Charles H. Peckham and Mary A. Martin of Peckham Martin PLLC in Houston.
