VALLEY STREAM — A photographer is claiming Gray Television used his copyrighted photograph of an Xbox Console that was published on his Flickr page without his permission in violation of copyright law.

Marco Verch filed a complaint Nov. 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Gray Television, Inc alleging copyright infringement.

Verch claims in his suit that he discovered in October of 2019 Gray had used his photograph for its website along with the article "Woman pleads not guilty to fatally stabbing beau over Xbox." Verch is the sole owner of the photograph which was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, according to the complaint.

Verch seeks monetary relief between $2,500 and $25,000, trial by jury, interest and other just relief. He is represented by Richard Liebowitz of The Liebowitz Law Firm PLLC in Valley Stream, New York.
