Man claims IQ Data International/Rent Collect Global illegally tried to collect his debt

WILTON — A Tyler man is claiming that IQ Data International/Rent Collect Global illegally attempted to collect his consumer debt. 

Raymond Jones filed a complaint  Nov. 5 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against IQ Data International, Inc/Rent Collect Global alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and invasion of personal privacy. 

According to the suit, Jones had incurred personal debt and in September of 2019, began to receive calls at work from the defendant. He claims he asked the defendants to stop calling during business hours and to call him after 6 p.m., however the calls continued. 

Jones seeks monetary relief of $1,000, trial by jury, punitive damages against the defendants and all other just relief. He is represented by Jody Burton of The Lemberg Law Firm LLC in Wilton, Connecticut
