BUTLER SNOW: Scott K. Field Joins American Arbitration Association Roster

Butler Snow issued the following announcement on Feb. 2.

Butler Snow attorney Scott K. Field has completed training to serve as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association (AAA). In addition to his growing mediation practice, Field is now available for appointment in AAA proceedings. AAA panelists provide industry-specific knowledge and expertise and are required to adhere to Codes of Ethics developed by the AAA and the American Bar Association (ABA). Field is a member of the firm’s Appellate practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he served a six-year term as Justice of the Texas Court of Appeals, Third District. Field also has experience from private practice where he handled all levels of trial and appellate matters in federal and state courts, represented individuals and institutions in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract and insurance disputes, and represented ERISA plans with disability and medical claims. He now uses his experience as a judge and as an appellate and trial attorney in advising clients from the outset of litigation through the conclusion of the appellate process.

Field is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association and the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Appellate Practice and Commercial Litigation. Field serves on the board of directors for the Texas Aggie Bar Association and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Austin Bar Foundation. He received his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law.
