HOUSTON — A model and social media influencer who immigrated to the U.S. from Saudi Arabia is alleging that during divorce proceedings, her husband took more than $164,000 of her company's revenues and went on a spending spree without her consent.

Rawan Abuzaid filed a complaint July 19 in Harris County District Court against Model Roz LLC and Mohammed Almorqi alleging breach of fiduciary duty and other claims.

According to her complaint, Abuzaid is a social-media influencer with more than 12 million followers working under the state name "Model Roz" who met the defendant in 2009 while in Saudi Arabia. She alleges Almorqi served as her business manager and in May of 2017, she formed her LLC Model Roz. Abuzaid claims that in 2020, after the couple moved to Los Angles, Almorqi began to be "controlling and verbally abusive" which resulted in their marriage ending in September of 2020.

She further claims that Almorqi deposited $164,970 of funds that were in the couple's escrow account into his personal checking account without her consent "mere days" after she left him, and used the funds on a Lamborghini sports car, a Porsche and paid off $17,500 of his personal credit card and loan payments. In addition, Abuzaid also claims the defendant used her company funds to retain a divorce attorney and for his $4,000 per month rent at a high-rise Los Angeles apartment.

She also claims Almorqi diverted revenues from her brand partners into his personal checking account.

Abuzaid seeks monetary and all other just relief. She is represented by Melynda Nuss of The Law Office of Melynda Nuss in Austin.
