AUSTIN – The River Road Independent School District wants to hire a San Antonio law firm to bring a hail claim, according to documents obtained by The Record.

Through attorney Jonathan Lisenby of Gravely PC, River Road ISD submitted a contingent contract to the Office of the Attorney General for approval on Aug. 10, records show.

River Road ISD claims that its high school and other district buildings sustained significant damage caused by hail and wind – covered losses that its insurer allegedly failed to adequately pay for under a policy agreement.

Marc Gravely, founder of Gravely PC, has extensive commercial litigation experience, including disputes involving construction defects and insurance coverage.

The Board of Trustees for River Road ISD approved a contingent fee contract between the district and Gravely on Aug. 9, records show.

The OAG refused to approve a contingent contract between the district and Gravely earlier this year, records show.
