HOUSTON — An African American female worker alleges she suffered discrimination and retaliation because of her age and race while working at a Houston oil and gas company.

Aimee Y. Ismaila filed a complaint Nov. 29 in Harris County District Court against Enterprise Products Partners LP alleging discrimination and retaliation.

According to her complaint, the plaintiff began working for Enterprise in 2015. She alleges that in December of 2020, her supervisor, who was a black female, was replaced by Christopher George, a Caucasian male in his 40's and claims that he prevented her and another black female from being promoted because they were older black women.

The plaintiff further claims that after complaining about the alleged discrimination, George began to harass her including sending emails, texts to her personal phone during all hours and on weekends and searched her social media while she was on short-term disability. She also claims George forced work time changes on her for no legitimate purpose and stood over her personal space at her workstation and that on May 12, 2020, she was constructively discharged. The plaintiff claims the defendant violated the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by David Joeckel, Jr., and Jonathan Walters of The Joeckel Law Office in Fort Worth.
