HOUSTON — A Carrabba's restaurant patron alleges she slipped on a liquid substance and suffered serious injuries.

Rosemary Laughlin filed a complaint  Jan. 7 in Harris County District Court against Mangia Beve Inc., doing business as Carrabba's I1-10, Cigi Beverages of Texas LLC, Carrabba's Italian Grill LLC, Bloomin' Brands Inc., and OSI Restaurant Partners LLC alleging premises liability.

According to her complaint, Laughlin was at the Carrabba's Italian Grill on Katy Freeway in Houston on Sept. 8, 2021. She alleges that as she got up from her seat, she slipped on a "liquid substance" that was in the middle of the aisle and suffered "serious" injuries. Laughlin claims the defendant failed to maintain the pedestrian walkways of the restaurant, failed to warn of the dangerous condition and failed to properly train, supervise and manage is employees.

She also claims the defendants did not properly train its employees on walkway cleaning and maintenance of the floors or to do a timely inspection of the area. Laughlin further claims as a result of her slip and fall she suffered disfigurement and other damages including incurring medical expenses.

Laughlin seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by James Edwards and Kenneth Nguyen of The Law Offices of Jim Edwards in Houston.
