HOUSTON — A TSA employee alleges a United Airlines employee ran over her foot with a motorized cart at George Bush Intercontinental.

De' Adrian Johnson filed a complaint July 21 in Harris County District Court against United Airlines Inc., and Jane Doe alleging negligence.

According to Johnson's complaint, she is a security officer with the TSA and was working at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on June 18, 2022. She alleges that Doe, a United Airlines employee, "forced" her way through a crowded area with a motorized cart and ran over her right foot. Johnson claims she fell and suffered serious and debilitating injuries which have prevented her from returning to work at the TSA.

Johnson alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to safely operate the motorized cart, failing to give a warning and failing to exercise caution and maintain awareness of the surroundings. She claims United Airlines was negligent for failing to properly train Doe on the safe use of the motorized carts and for not adopting safety policies for the use of the motorized carts. Johnson also claims as a result of the defendants' negligence, she suffered impairment, disfigurement and incurred medical expenses.

Johnson seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Jonathan Havens and Matt Allen of Allen & Havens LLP in Houston.
