Global law firm Reed Smith announced  that William Davis has joined the firm’s Global Corporate Group in Houston. Davis joins Reed Smith from Norton Rose Fulbright.

Davis represents companies in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, venture capital financings and general corporate matters, across a range of industries. He has extensive experience in cross-border, multi-jurisdictional transactions.

“Our global corporate practice continues to build depth across the Reed Smith platform, which includes growing our capabilities in Texas,” said James Tandler, global co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group. ”Will’s experience and skillset across several industries of strategic importance to the firm makes him an excellent addition to our team, and his cross-border experience is a great fit with our global platform.”

In addition to his M&A experience, Davis advises clients on securities law matters, including securities offerings and US Securities and Exchange Commission reporting obligations. He represents issuers and underwriters in a variety of registered and private offerings of debt and equity securities.

“I am excited to join Reed Smith’s Global Corporate team, as the firm’s international breadth and its deep bench in energy, healthcare and other industries will support my clients and open new doors for my practice and the firm,” said Davis. “I am thrilled to be a part of the continued growth of Reed Smith’s corporate transactional practice in Texas.”

Davis is the second significant partner hire in Reed Smith’s Houston office over the last two months, following energy and natural resources partner Luke Burns arrival in December.

“As we continue to grow in Houston, and Texas more broadly, our strategy of bringing on highly regarded and highly skilled transactional talent continues to yield significant returns for the firm,” said Chris Watt, managing partner of Reed Smith’s Houston office. “Will’s arrival brings a heavyweight to Reed Smith who is well known among Houston’s business community for his diligence and laser-like focus on client service. We also expect Will to play a significant role in our continued recruitment of associate and lateral partner talent to the Houston office. We are thrilled to have him on board.”
