BEAUMONT - Partners Cody A. Dishon and Jane S. Leger, and Javier Cabanillas of the Ferguson Law Firm, obtained a multi-million dollar settlement for a worker involved in an oil rig explosion, the law firm’s website states.
The worker suffered significant burns and was immediately life-flighted where he remained hospitalized for approximately two months.
“The family called me several weeks after the explosion seeking help,” Dishon said. “I made a promise to the family that our firm would fight for answers. And we did that. We discovered that the explosion was a direct result of another company’s negligence and never stopped until the company accepted full responsibility. Had safety been a priority for the company, the explosion would have never occurred.”
Leger added: “We hired the best engineers and experts to determine why the explosion happened. We fought against every defense and obtained the best result for our client. The company was forced to exhaust all its insurance money available.”
Dishon and Leger, along with JCabanillas, served as counsel for the client.
“The legal work required to obtain this recovery was tremendous,” Dishon said. “I like to think that Jane, Javier and I provided that work for this very deserving client. Equally important, my paralegal, Jessica Burkett, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us to deliver an exceptional result for our client. None of us are afraid of hard work or challenging cases.”
The Ferguson Law Firm continues to be nationally recognized for record-breaking recoveries made on behalf of workers. The firm’s lawyers continue to obtain the top verdicts and settlements in Texas and across the country. The law firm continues to maintain its primary office in Beaumont.
