Two Reed Smith regulatory attorneys based in the United States have been shortlisted for honors in LMG Life Sciences Americas Awards highlighting the best in legal practice in the life sciences sector.
Joe Metro was shortlisted for “Regulatory Attorney of the Year: Pricing & Reimbursement” and Sarah Cummings Stewart was shortlisted for “US Rising Star – Regulatory.” The LMG Life Sciences in Americas Awards feature lawyers from the United States, Canada and Brazil who are the best in corporate matters involving regulations, intellectual property and litigation.
Based in Washington, D.C., Metro practices health care regulatory law. He focuses on counseling health care manufacturers, distributors and providers on reimbursement, regulatory, and fraud and abuse issues. He provides analysis and counseling on government pricing matters to drug and device manufacturers, including about the Medicaid drug rebate statute, Veterans Administration drug pricing, the federal anti-kickback statute, and other federal and state laws.
Stewart is a partner with Reed Smith’s Life Sciences Health Industry Group who works in Dallas and Austin. She combines business savvy and an understanding of strategic business objectives with experience designing and implementing compliance programs. She regularly works alongside in-house lawyers, risk-control stakeholders, and operational professionals to design impactful solutions.
The annual awards event will be held in-person in New York City on September 7.
