AUSTIN – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Jon West in the Republican Primary for Place 5 on the 13th Court of Appeals, which serves the Corpus Christi and Edinburg areas, a press release states.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “Jon West is a career public servant with a passion for upholding the rule of law and representing victims. He is committed to applying the laws as-written, never legislating from the bench. TLRPAC is proud to endorse him.”
West is a 30-year career felony prosecutor. He has served as first assistant in the district attorney’s offices in San Patricio, Bee, Live Oak, McMullen, Kleberg and Kenedy counties, on the Border Prosecution Unit in the Jim Wells and Brooks Counties District Attorney’s Office, and as a felony prosecutor in district attorney’s office in Starr, Jim Hogg and Duval counties.
West received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the St. Mary’s University School of Law.
