Jordan W. Cowman, a Labor & Employment Practice shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Dallas office, has been appointed to the Dallas Symphony Association board of governors.
“The arts provide inspiration, entertainment, and a way forward for so many,” Cowman said. “It is an honor to serve on the board of governors for such a prestigious association and I look forward to working alongside fellow community leaders to further advance its legacy, vision, and mission.”
Cowman will serve a three-year term on the board, which oversees the direction and governance for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO). A longtime supporter of the DSO, this is Cowman’s first official position with the association.
According to its website, the DSO “delivers uplifting, entertaining musical experiences and innovative, enriching educational opportunities—both within the inspiring Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and across the community.” As one of the largest performing arts organizations in the Southwestern United States, the DSO is committed to inspiring its audience with classical programs, pop concerts, and multimedia presentations.
Cowman co-chairs the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice’s International Employment, Immigration & Workforce Strategies Group. A long-time U.S. business representative to the United Nations’ International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, Cowman is sought after by businesses when issues arise concerning international and cross-border employment matters, corporate social responsibility, international corporate campaigns, and other international labor and employment matters that arise. He has assisted clients with business combinations, merger and acquisition due diligence, and has advised clients on supply chain issues and the eradication of forced labor.
