AUSTIN – Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC (TLRPAC) today endorsed Tonya McLaughlin of Houston in the Republican Primary for Place 4 on the 14th Court of Appeals, which covers Harris County and nine surrounding counties.
“Texas judges make critical decisions every day that impact our families and our freedoms, particularly on our intermediate appellate courts, which are often the last stop for some of the most consequential decisions affecting our state,” TLRPAC General Counsel Lee Parsley said. “With a background in criminal prosecution and defense, Tonya McLaughlin is committed to both fairness in our justice system and upholding the rule of law. TLRPAC is proud to support her.”
McLaughlin is an attorney in private practice. She began her career in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor before launching her private criminal law practice. She has handled misdemeanor and felony cases and more than 100 appeals, many of which have been before the 14th Court of Appeals.
McLaughlin received a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and a law degree from the South Texas College of Law.
