At the Texas Minority Council Program’s Annual Conference, Thompson Coburn Dallas Managing Partner Nicole Williams shared details of her leadership style and approach to DEI as well as career development advice for young diverse attorneys. Williams was joined by Quinn Emanuel’s Chris Porter and Reed Smith’s Omar Alaniz for the panel discussion, which was featured in an article in The Texas Lawbook.
Williams, who became managing and co-founding partner of the Dallas office in March 2020, said she tries to “treat everyone the way she wants to be treated” and tries to model the mentors she has had in her career.
She also said it is important to her to be accessible so that colleagues at all levels can feel comfortable calling her cellphone. She’s learned that when issues arise, it’s best to deal with them as quickly as possible. “If I can start addressing the issue when it happens, it helps,” she said.
