Global law firm Reed Smith was among a group of advisors named as winners in the Consumer Discretionary Deal of the Year (Under $100mm) category by The M&A Advisor’s in its 18th Annual Turnaround Awards. The firm represented Nova Wildcat Shur-line Holdings Inc. d/b/a H2 Brands, a portfolio company of Nova Capital Management, in connection with H2 Brands’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy case and the related 363 sale process. Gordon Brothers Commercial & Industrial LLC and Nations Capital, via a joint venture, were the purchaser of H2 Brands’ assets in the 363 sale.

The Reed Smith team that advised H2 Brands included New York-based private equity partners Chris Sheaffer and Anatoliy Rozental and associates Lowell Bourgeois and Brent McDonough on the corporate side. A cross-office team comprised of Dallas partner Omar Alaniz, Pittsburgh partner Luke Sizemore, Wilmington partner Kurt Gwynne and Wilmington counsel Jason Angelo advised H2 Brands on the bankruptcy side.

“Since 2002, we have been honoring the leading turnaround transactions, companies and dealmakers. Reed Smith was chosen from hundreds of participating companies to receive the award. It gives us great pleasure to recognize the firm and bestow upon them our highest honor for distressed investing and restructuring firms and professionals,” said Roger Aguinaldo, Founder and CEO of The M&A Advisor. “Reed Smith represents the best of the distressed investing and reorganization industry in 2023 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive candidates.”

The 18th Annual Turnaround Awards will be presented at a Black-Tie Awards Gala on March 19 at The Ben Hotel in Palm Beach, FL.
