Regina Pearson, a Corporate and Energy & Natural Resources shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Austin office, was appointed incoming chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Construction Law Forum’s Infrastructure, Energy, and the Environment Division (Division 10). The appointment took place Jan. 24 at the ABA Construction Law Mid-Winter Meeting.

“We are proud of Regina’s appointment as chair to the ABA Construction Law Forum, a leading organization in the industry. Her extensive background in both the construction and energy field coupled with her emphasis to better serve clients will position her well for this role,” said William Garner, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Energy & Natural Resources Practice and chair of the firm’s Renewable Energy Practice, and Michael J. Thomas, co-chair of the firm’s National Construction Law Practice. “Regina continues to represent Greenberg Traurig well and we appreciate her leadership.”

Pearson has been a member of the Construction Law Forum since 2013 and on the steering committee of Division 10 since 2018. Additionally, she previously served as In-House Counsel Fellow for the ABA Forum on Construction Law. The ABA Forum on Construction Law cultivates its volunteer leaders for its fourteen Divisions focusing on specific practice areas.

“It’s an honor to be taking on this role and I look forward to working alongside fellow forum leaders to better serve our members and both the construction and energy industries as a whole,” Pearson said. “Throughout my participation in the Forum, I have made connections with industry leaders and have benefitted from their programming. As chair, I will continue the work of my predecessors, and give back to an organization that has done so much for me.”

According to its website, the mission of Division 10 is to provide resources, education, and a forum to discuss energy, infrastructure, and potential environmental aspects of construction projects and related strategies.

Pearson counsels clients on project development, throughout the entire lifecycle of a project with a focus on the engineering, construction, and operational strategies and agreements. Her experience includes counselling clients in the planning, development, and management of large construction projects. Pearson has deep experience advising on energy projects, including renewable and transition energy projects. Her past experience includes liquefied natural gas, power, petrochemical, hydrogen, and carbon capture and sequestration projects, among others.
